Three Eagles named to SWAC first team

The National Junior College Athletic Association, Region 18, announced its all-conference men’s soccer team last week and three members of the Colorado Mountain College Eagles were named to the Scenic West Athletic Conference first team.

Leading the way for the Eagles was team captain Jesse Lamb from Telluride. Lamb was named as a central midfielder and also named CMC’s Player of The Year.

Recognition as first team central defender and CMC’s freshman of the year came to Salvadore Cruz of Basalt.

In the forward position on the SWAC team was CMC’s leading goal scorer, James Mitchell of Rifle.

“To have all three of our all-conference awards go to student-athletes from western Colorado is an indication of how far soccer has come in this region and the opportunity our program offers to the western Colorado soccer athletes,” Eagles head coach Steve White said.
