Three Rivers 11s take third

The Three Rivers 11-year-old All-Stars’ sticks weren’t quite as hot on Monday as they were on Sunday, as the squad fell to Palisade, 13-6, in the semifinals of the District 1 Little League Tournament in Cortez. After 10-run ruling Cortez in an 11-1 victory on Sunday, the Three Rivers 11s were eliminated from the tournament by Palisade on Monday night.”Our guys never gave up. Palisade played a better game than us today,” said Three Rivers 11s coach Bob Johnson. “We didn’t overpower them like we did Cortez, but we were in jeopardy of being 10-run ruled and we fought back.”The loss knocked Three Rivers out of the tournament, and the All-Stars ended their season in third place.”It was a good season,” Johnson said. “The kids are happy, and kids from all the towns chipped in.”
