Three Rivers eliminated

After suffering two heartbreaking one-run losses in a row, the Three Rivers 11- and 12-year-old All-Stars were eliminated from the District 1 Little League Majors Tournament in Grand Mesa.

The latest blow came late Wednesday night, when Three Rivers fell to Grand Mesa 14-13 in extra-innings.

The game was tied at 13 after six innings, but Grand Mesa rallied for one more run in extra innings to win the game. Other details on the game were unavailable at press time.

Three Rivers started the tournament with two 10-run-rule winning games. The All-Stars first beat Montrose 15-4 on Saturday, before destroying Palisade 16-0.

On Tuesday, Three Rivers dropped its first game to Monument by the score of 4-3. Monument scored the winning run on a Three Rivers wild pitch.
