Three Rivers Little League squad wins state tournament opener

WINTER PARK — Jake Ticer and David Reilly each homered to pace a big offensive attack for the Three Rivers Little League baseball team on Thursday, helping the Majors All-Stars beat Durango 16-1 in four innings on the first day of the Colorado Little League state tournament.

The victory moved Three Rivers, a team that includes players from Glenwood Springs, Aspen, Basalt and Eagle, into Saturday’s second round. Three Rivers will play at 10 a.m. Saturday against an opponent that will be determined today.

Three Rivers did not commit an error during the game. The squad also got two doubles apiece from Luke Morrisey and Joey Beveridge. Matt Rigney scored three runs for Three Rivers.



Three Rivers is playing in the Little League state tournament for the first time in 15 years.
