Titan girls trump Cedaredge Friday night

PEACH VALLEY ” The Coal Ridge girls basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to defeat Cedaredge 55-37 on Friday night in its first game back since winter break.

Morgan Jessup led the charge with 10 points, while Kelly Romero and Kaitlin Moeller each added nine for the Titans. Chasity Gonzales totaled seven and Mikaela Guettler, Matraisa Beecraft and Tori Verdieck each chipped in six.

Coal Ridge’s defense was very effective against Cedaredge, holding it to five points in both the first and third quarters.

The Titans moved to 5-2 overall with the win and evened their Class 3A Western Slope League record to 1-1.

Coal Ridge will next host Gunnison today at 2:30 p.m. in another WSL contest.
