Titans, Cardinals lead 3A WSL volleyball first-team

Capping off a successful regular season and post-season run, the Coal Ridge Titans girls volleyball added to their impressive regular season with six members of the varsity team making the 3A Western Slope League All-Conference Team.

Head coach Aimee Gerber was named the 3A coach of the year after piloting the Titans to a (20-7, 7-0) record in 2015, including a regional title in the state playoffs and an appearance at the Denver Coliseum in the state playoffs.

Along with Gerber, senior middle hitter, Kaitlyn Detlefsen, was named the 3A WSL player of the year thanks to her dominating play in the middle of the court all season long. Detlefsen also recently committed to the University of Northern Colorado to play volleyball next season.

While Gerber and Detlefsen took home individual awards, Dana Kotz and Nicole Mooney joined Detlefsen as Titans on the All-Conference first team. Kaitlyn Harlow, Santana Martinez and Emily Wright were named as Honorable Mentions for Coal Ridge, giving them six players on the first-team or Honorable Mention teams.

Joining Coal Ridge with six players are the Grand Valley Cardinals, who also made the state playoffs this past season.

Kylyn Rigsby, Allie Dovey and Shaya Chenoweth were named to first-team 3A WSL team, while Taylor Mills, Bailey Rowe and Lohgan McClung were names as Honorable Mentions.

For the Roaring Fork Rams, Madilyn Kuhl and Grace Brown were named to the WSL first-team All-Conference, while Lily Ramos was named as an Honorable Mention
