Titans golf to 5th at Cotton Ranch

After shooting higher-than-hoped for rounds on Wednesday in the Battle Mountain Invitational, the Coal Ridge boys golf team improved significantly on Thursday.The Titans chopped down their scores to equal a 276 in the Eagle Valley Invitational at Cotton Ranch Golf Club Gypsum, cutting 19 strokes off Wednesday’s total.Thomas Simmons shot an 88 to lead the way and was followed by Todd Scott who carded a 92 and Craig Spaulding who turned in a 96. The Titans finished fifth out of six teams.Glenwood also sent a mix of varsity and junior varsity golfers to the tourney and Michael Bracklow turned in the lowest score for the Demons with a 90. Glenwood scored a 282 as a team.Individual placements were unavailable at press time.
