Titans set to take on Danes

As the No. 18 seed in the 3A CHSAA state playoffs, the Coal Ridge Titans boys soccer team has reached the final four once again.

Reaching the semis for the second time in four years, the Titans will face the Fountain Valley Danes, who came into the state playoffs as the No. 6 seed.

Along the way to the final four, the Danes have defeated Denver School of Science and Technology, 7-0, and Telluride, 2-1, before topping KIPP Denver Collegiate, 2-1, setting up a showdown with the Titans.

Coal Ridge has had quite the run as well, knocking off No. 15 seed Denver Christian, 1-0, No. 2 seed Liberty Common, 1-0, and No. 10 seed Salida, 2-1 in double overtime to advance to the final four.

The Titans and Danes will square off at p.m., Wednesday, at All City Stadium in Denver.
