Top-seeded Glenwood squad travels to ninth seeded Berthoud Sat.

The top-ranked Demons will travel to Berthoud for a Class 3A quarterfinal playoff game this Saturday, with kickoff at 1 p.m.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” The Glenwood Springs High School football team will be on the road Saturday in its state quarterfinal playoff game against Berthoud. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Berthoud High School.

The Demons are the top ranked team in Class 3A and are now 11-0 after the 52-10 win over Roosevelt last Saturday.

Berthoud (9-2) is the ninth seed in the 3A playoffs and advanced to the second round with a 40-26 over Centaurus.

Berthoud was the third seed to come out of the Tri-Valley League behind the Class 3A second-ranked team Fort Morgan (11-0) and Mountain View (10-1). Both teams advanced to the quarterfinals.

The Tri-League sent a total of five teams to the playoffs including Roosevelt, and Windsor. Windsor upset Conifer in the first round 20-6.

The Western Slope League sent three teams to the playoffs. Glenwood was the lone team to advance, with Palisade and Steamboat Springs both losing in the first round.

The winner of the Glenwood- Berthoud game will play the next weekend in the Class 3A semifinals against the winner of Pueblo County (8-3) and Mountain View (10-1).
