Ufkes erupts for 314 yards to lead Skiers

CARBONDALE – Aspen hung a 42-21 football defeat on host Roaring Fork on Friday.

Nicky Ufkes had 314 yards rushing and three touchdowns for the Skiers, who improved to 6-2 overall and to 4-1 in the 2A Western Slope League.

Anderson Cole had two TD tosses for Aspen. He also ran for a score.

Cesar Farrias and Johnny Nieslanik had rushing scores for the Rams, now 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the 2A WSL. Clay Gross had a TD pass to Trenton Reeds to account for the Rams’ third TD.

Farrias finished with 100 yards rushing on 14 carries for Roaring Fork. Gross had 151 yards on 9-of-22 passing.

Cardinals beat up on Titans

PEACH VALLEY – Grand Valley improved to 6-2 overall and to 3-2 in the 2A WSL with a 46-7 win at Coal Ridge on Friday.

The loss dropped Coal Ridge to 2-6 overall and to 0-5 in league.
