Weather postpones games

Due to the winter storm that hit the area on Monday, many high school athletic games were postponed on Tuesday.

In girls soccer, the Battle Mountain-Glenwood Springs game in Glenwood, the Colorado Rocky Mountain School-Aspen contest at CRMS, the Basalt-Coal Ridge game in Peach Valley and the Vail Mountain-Roaring Fork game in Carbondale were all postponed.

The Glenwood girls will make up the Battle Mountain game on May 1 at 5:45 p.m. The Demons will also be making up a game that was postponed earlier this season against Eagle Valley on April 23. Both games will be in Glenwood.

Make-up dates for the Coal Ridge and CRMS soccer games have not yet been announced.

In prep baseball, Hotchkiss’ trip to Rifle to face Coal Ridge was postponed as was the Roaring Fork-Basalt baseball game in Carbondale and the Grand Valley vs. Glenwood Springs junior varsity contest.

An attempt to make up the Basalt-Roaring Fork baseball game will be made up today if fields in either El Jebel or Carbondale are snow-free. Roaring Fork Athletic Director Larry Black said a decision will be made this morning.

Make-up dates for the Coal Ridge and Grand Valley baseball games have not yet been announced.
