And the coin flip comes up ” Rifle.

In a session held earlier this week by the Colorado High School Activities Association among the four Class 3A football semifinalists, Rifle earned the right to host the Saturday, Dec. 3, championship game.

Of course, the Bears have a little work in front of them this Saturday to get to the 3A title game.

The Bears take on conference rival Steamboat Springs at Bears Stadium for the opportunity to face the winner of the Florence at Alamosa semifinal game in the championship tilt.

Both semifinal games start at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets will be available to the Rifle-Steamboat game at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The gates to Bears Stadium are scheduled to open at the same time. Admission price is $7 for adults and $5 for students, K-12, and seniors.

Good weather has been forecasted. According to Weather.com, temperature should be in the mid-40s with only a 10 percent chance of participation.

Fans who can’t get to the game can listen to live play-by-play on radio stations KMTS (99.1-FM) or KISS (105.3-FM) starting at 12:45 p.m. A re-broadcast of the KISS airing is scheduled for 3 p.m. over KRGS (AM 690).
