Youth climbing wall competition Friday
The Glenwood Springs Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a youth climbing wall competition Friday at the Glenwood Springs Community Center.
The competition will feature three phases. The triathlon of climbing challenges will showcase different skills and styles to produce an overall champion – the best all-around climber.
The three events will be an all-out race against the clock, involving speed and accuracy.
Another will test the climbers’ endurance and technique n a bouldering competition.
The third event will test the climbers’ ability to high-mark on difficult “natural” routes.
Four categories are planned, for high school males and females and middle school males and females.
The event will run from 1:30-5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26.
Regular wall fees will apply.
To preregister, call 384-6301.
