Curious and Curiouser 

What: Don’t miss an immersive evening of thrills and magic with Mt. Cirque Entertainment aerialists at the Thunder River Theatre Company. This family-friendly event features unforgettable acts by Mt. Cirque Entertainment performers, guest juggler The Circus Knight and Bubbleologist Jeff Paley. Arrive early to watch Master Logan perform card tricks in the lobby.

Vaudeville Holiday Show

What: Head to the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue for a two hour, seasonal dinner theater show that’s fun for children and adults alike. The beloved Vaudeville Holiday Show — full of comedic skits, original songs and energetic dances — runs until Jan. 17.

When: 6 p.m Friday, Jan. 9; Saturday, Jan. 10; Jan. 16 and Jan. 17 

Where: The Glenwood Vaudeville Revue, 915 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs

The Oxymorons (80s Night!)

What: Dance the night away at the third installment of this year’s Ranch Dance Series at Spring Creeks Ranch with an ’80s night featuring The Oxymorons. Hailing from Grand Junction, The Oxymorons specialize in the best funk, pop, dance and country hits from the 1950s to today, but will be pulling out all the best ’80s hits for this night of dancing, good company and live music. 

When: 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10

Contra Dance

What: Learn how to contra dance with the Roaring Fork Contra Dance Winter Dance Series. Join for a 30 minute lesson walkthrough and then spend the next two hours showing off your new moves. 

When: 7-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 

Where: Carbondale Community School, 1505 Satank Road, Carbondale

How much: $10-$20 suggested donation (cash appreciated). $5 for students. 

Rodney Norman

What: Head to Rifle’s Ute Theater for a night of laughter featuring comedian and philosopher Rodney Norman. Norman’s unconventional, quirky performance style spreads joy as well as tidbits of wisdom and has earned his videos millions of views online. 

When: 7-11 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11

Free Intro to Climbing Class

What: Join this free class for beginners for an introduction to indoor climbing. Participants will learn basic movement and body positioning, how to use equipment and fall safely, how to understand climbing grades and difficulty and more. Ages 14 and up are welcome. 

When: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13

Where: Rifle Climbing Center, 139 W. Third St., Rifle,

Artful Adventures

What: Bring your child to the Glenwood Springs Community Art Center for creative adventures each early release Wednesday. Children ages 11 to 17 can learn new techniques, build their artistic skills and explore new materials throughout the program. 

When: 2:30-4:30 p.m. every Wednesday 

Where: Community Art Center, 601 E. Sixth St., Glenwood Springs

Watercolor and Wellbeing

What: Head to the Glenwood Springs Community Art Center for a watercolor class that focuses on combining creative expression with mindfulness for personal well-being and growth. This four-session course is taught by Adele Craft, a psychology instructor at Colorado Mountain College and founder of Crafted Wellbeing. 

When: 5-7 p.m. each Thursday beginning Jan. 15

Bingo

What: Head to the Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge for a family-friendly bingo night. Seniors, adults, teens and children eight years and older can play early bird bingo starting at 6:30 p.m. for $1 per card, or join in a regular bingo game at 7 p.m. for $10 for six games. Concessions, including burgers, hot dogs and fries, will be served at 5:30 p.m.

When: 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8

The Blues Inferno Tour with Chris Duarte & Alastair Greene

What: Blues rocker Alastair Green and blues guitarist Chris Duarte form the ultimate duo for lovers of authentic blues. This performance promises to pay tribute to legendary blues artists while pushing the genre’s limits. 

When: 7-10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16

A DVT Comedy Showcase: Snow Laughing Matter

What: Head to Down Valley Brewing for a cold drink elevated by sharp sets from “barely stable comics” at DVT’s first comedy showcase of the year. 

When: 6:30-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17

The Dirk Quinn Band

What: Local favorite Typical Ghost joins The Dirk Quinn Band for a night of powerful tunes at the Ute Theater. Dirk Quinn, a guitarist from a Philadelphia funk, jam and jazz group, promises to bring high-energy music that blends genres and transports listeners. 

When: 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17
