First Friday – 21st Celebration of Día de los Muertos

What: Head to downtown Carbondale for the 21st celebration of Día de los Muertos. November’s First Friday will feature a community procession, face painting and performances by Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Folklórico, Roaring Fork Youth Orchestra, Mezcla Socials Dance and more.

10,000 Villages Fair Trade Market

What: The 10,000 Villages Fair Trade International Craft Fair returns to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glenwood Springs this weekend. Proceeds from the sale support skilled makers and disadvantaged individuals in 35 countries. 10,000 Villages has provided $140 million in sustainable income to otherwise unemployed workers since it was founded in 1946. 

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9

Grand River Health’s Fall Health Fair

What: Head to Grand River Health for affordable testing, flu and pneumococcal vaccines and free resources like blood pressure tests, foot screenings, diabetes education and opportunities to talk to doctors and dietitians. 

When: 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8

Where: Grand River Health, 501 Airport Road, Rifle

Mountain Valley Developmental Services Sneaker Drive

What: Mountain Valley Developmental Services is raising money for its day programs in Glenwood Springs, Silt and Minturn through an athletic shoe drive fundraiser. MVDS will earn money based on how many pairs of used, gently worn and new sneakers are collected until Nov. 11. Through the sneaker recycling organization GotSneakers, sneakers not approved for resale will be recycled.

Artful Adventures

What: Bring your child to the Glenwood Springs Community Art Center for creative adventures each early release Wednesday. Children ages 11 to 17 can learn new techniques, build their artistic skills and explore new materials throughout the 11 session program. 

When: 2:30-4:30 p.m. every Wednesday until Dec. 17, except for Nov. 26. 

Where: Community Art Center, 601 E. Sixth St., Glenwood Springs

How much: $220 for all 11 classes. 

Karaoke Night

What: Head to the Black Nugget for a weekly karaoke night every Wednesday. Sip a crafted cocktail and enjoy the show, or grab the professional microphone and take a turn in the spotlight.

The Freddy Jones Band

What: Spend an evening with the iconic Freddy Jones Band at the Ute Theater in Rifle. Experience the voice of founding member Marty Lloyd and the talents of bassist Rich Ross while celebrating 30 years since the band released its breakthrough album, “North Avenue Wakeup Call.”

When: 7-10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14

Where: Ute Theater and Events Center, 132 E. Fourth St., Rifle

Carbondale Christmas Boutique

What: Head to Carbondale for the 49th Annual Boutique, which features unique goods handmade by local artisans. Highlights include handcrafted soap, wood cutting boards, stained glass ornaments, jelly and jams and more. 

When: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15

Where: Carbondale Christmas Boutique, 300 Meadwood Drive, Carbondale
