El Jebel’s Hominy Kitchen had its last day Sunday, May 17, before the restaurant closed permanently.
This announcement follows a temporary closure in January due to ongoing staffing shortages and impacted local foot traffic that lasted until March, when the restaurant rebranded and reopened. This new closure, however, is for good.
“That’ll do it folks,” the restaurant posted to its social media on Friday, May 15. “This time it is for real and we will be permanently closed as of this Sunday, May 17. We are so grateful for the last four years of friendship and love from the community and beyond. We had a blast and now it is time for us to pursue other new exciting opportunities.”
The lease acquisition for Hominy Kitchen is currently listed at $525,000 with approximately two years remaining on the lease with a five-year option to extend, according to its listing with Broker Associate Mary Kate Farrell.
