November 17, 1930 – March 13, 2026

Born November 17th, 1930. Went to be with the Lord March 13, 2026.

Carol was born in Chicago Illinois to Florence and Clifford Keddie.

She is survived by her brother David Keddie of Wisconsin and also her children: Keddie Burrows, Kathie Walker, Stephen Burrows, Kathryn Schroeder, Diane Simmons, Debbie Burrows, Keith Burrows and her stepdaughter Heather Jane. 21 Grandchildren 40 Great Grandchildren 6 Great Great Grandchildren.

Carol went to college at Western Michigan University and was a Phys Ed Major. She was very active and continued to be even after being diagnosed with MS at the age of 29. She continued her education at Arizona State University and majored in Elementary Education and graduated with distinction.

Carol married Earl Burrows in 1950. After living various places they moved to Aspen Colorado in 1954, where they lived for several years. They moved to Glenwood Springs in 1969. Carol taught grades 2-6 at the Glenwood Springs Elementary School until retiring in 1984. She cared very deeply for her students. She was a very strict teacher however she made learning fun! You had to get in line to get in her class!

She divorced and later met Ricky Pappan. They met while she was a flagger on Vail Pass and he was a paver. Carol and Rick married in 1977. After she retired they left the valley and moved to Sacramento California on the river.

Carol and Rick with their church made it their Mission to help feed and house the homeless and those struggling with addiction. They shared their Faith with everyone they met and lead many to the Lord!

Ricky Lee passed away on April 21, 2025 after an 8 year battle with Alzheimer’s. Carol and her loving family cared for Rick at home on the river until his passing. Carol stayed on the river surrounded by her family who cared for her until she passed away on March 13, 2026.

She was a woman of strong Faith, was loving and caring, and had a unique sassy style! She loved the Lord first and her family second…including her beloved dogs Sidney and Harley Davidson.

Caring for our mother was an honor for our family and it was our privilege to witness Dying Grace. Mom sang and laughed until the very end. We called her the Queen because she was the matriarch of our family. We will hold our memories close and her in our hearts always!

Celebration of Life will be in Glenwood Springs Colorado and Sacramento California. Dates and Times to be announced.
