March 31, 1970 – April 21, 2025

Carter Lamar Schultz was born March 31, 1970, to Gail and Gary Schultz in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. He passed peacefully on April 21, 2025, in Southlake, Texas, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Carter’s kind, gentle, fun-loving nature drew people to him. To know him was to love him. Ever the overachiever, Carter excelled in academics and sports. Carter was GSHS valedictorian in 1988, competed on GSHS’s wrestling team and competed at the State Tournament. He was also an excellent golfer. Carter attended Abilene Christian University, where he met and married his sweetheart of 33 years, Paige, and earned a degree in accounting. After four successful years working as a CPA for Price Waterhouse, he felt God’s call. He returned to Abilene Christian University to earn a Masters of Divinity. Carter served as a beloved senior pastor at churches in Georgia and Alabama. During those years, Paige and Carter welcomed three sons to join their daughter Abigail: John David, Obed, and Jude. After thirteen years in the ministry, Carter’s heart was drawn back to Texas, where he embarked on a fruitful career in both residential and commercial real estate.
Carter achieved much success in every arena of his life, but his deep love and passion for God and his unending devotion to his wife and four incredible children were his crowning accomplishments. Carter is survived by his wife Paige; daughter Abigail, 27; son John David, 20; son Obed, 19; and son Jude, 14. He is also survived by his mother Gail Schultz of Grand Junction, CO, his sister Karen (Ron) Nadon of New Castle, CO, and his brother Craig (Lisa) Schultz of Grand Junction, CO as well as beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carter’s celebration of life will be held on May 29th at 1pm at Victory Church in Grapevine, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carter’s name to Crossingboundariesinc.com, a ministry that brings Christ and fresh water to Kenyans.
