Kimberley “Kim” Gail Fazzi, 68, of Rifle, Colorado, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO.
The eldest of six children, Kim was born in Bakersfield, CA to Nadine MacDonald.
After high school, she left home, where she met and married the love of her life, Raymond Fazzi. Kim and Ray moved and worked around the US and in 1976, they welcomed their first child, Jennifer. When they grew tired of moving and were ready to settle down, they moved back to Ray’s home state of Colorado, which Kim enjoyed exploring and adventuring in the entirety of her life. In 1982, they welcomed their second child, Justin. When both children were in school full time, Kim was able to get her college degree, which helped her obtain her first job outside of the home. For 20 years, Kim was the Director and Curator for Rifle Creek Museum, now known as Rifle Heritage Center. Working at the museum was one of Kim’s most treasured experiences. Not only did she get to meet new and interesting people, but as a huge history buff, she also got to learn the history of our small town and the small towns around us. Her passion for reading and learning new things led to an extra job as a librarian at Silt Branch Library, where she worked for several years.
Her mother and one sister, Anita Morgan, preceded Kim in death. She is survived by her most loving husband of 52 years, Ray Fazzi; her children, Jennifer (Tony) Stewart of Rifle, CO and Justin Fazzi of Rifle, CO. She also leaves behind her siblings Aleta (Steve) Owens, Kendall MacDonald, Keven (Danielle) MacDonald, and Jamie (Marlena) MacDonald; many nieces and nephews; a huge extended family and friends.
Kim has been cremated, and at her request, no formal service will be held.
With us all, she has left a hole that can never be filled. We will miss her love, her stubbornness, and her kind and generous spirit forever.
