Stanley “Shane” Weaver was born in Texas to the late Harland Tod Weaver (Texas) and the late Virginia Sterrett (Carbondale, Co). He is preceded in death by his siblings Timothy Tod Weaver and Leigh Ann Weaver. Shane is survived by daughter Erica Leigh Weaver, son William Todd Weaver and brother John Sterrett Weaver.
Shane was a 4th generation resident of the Roaring Fork Valley and began coming here in the 60’s to spend time with his grandparents John and Beulah Wilson. The family enjoyed ski trips to Sunlight Mountain and fishing the Crystal River. Shane moved permanently to Carbondale in the late 80’s and had a long career working at the Aspen Post Office, where he enjoyed his daily routine.
Shane was passionate about watching sports, especially routing for his favorite soccer teams. One of his greatest joys was playing pool with friends on Saturday nights. Shane was an avid reader and a lover of history and poetry. He also had a deep appreciation for country music and fine art. Shane had a kind soul and loved his family very much. He was a loyal son, good brother and an excellent father. He was a great friend to many and will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at Hill Crest Cemetery (White Hill) on Friday 02/07/2025 at 12:30pm.
