Vail, Beaver Creek begin snowmaking for 2025-26 season

Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek got the snowguns going Thursday, Oct. 16, marking the start of snowmaking season for the ski areas.

As temperatures are expected to continue to be low, “snowmaking operation teams are preparing key terrain” to ensure early season conditions are as good as they can be, according to a news release Friday morning.

Opening Day for Vail Mountain is Nov. 14, while Beaver Creek will open Nov. 26.
