John Stroud

John Stroud became editor of the Glenwood Springs Post Independent in February 2018. John has been a journalist in the lower Roaring Fork Valley for 30 years, including eight years at the former Glenwood Post, 12 years as a reporter and managing editor at the weekly Valley Journal in Carbondale, and again as a reporter for the Glenwood Post Independent from 2009-18 covering a variety of regular beats before taking the editor’s job. John has been a youth cross country and ski coach, and is an avid mountain trail runner and competitive racer himself. He and his wife Tami have one son, Trevor, who graduated from Roaring Fork High School and is now attending Colorado State University. John is also active with the Carbondale Rotary Club, and is involved with the club’s youth exchange program.
