Katherine Tomanek graduated from Colorado Mesa University’s English department in spring of 2023 and joined the Post Independent that same fall as a reporter.
A love for writing began when her mom held “secret” Reading Clubs with her, and Katherine decided to try writing her own pieces. She worked for the student publications of CMU: the Horizon Magazine, Literary Review, and Pinyon, and is in the process of writing her own novel.
Katherine writes for the Post Independent to raise voices in the community that aren’t always heard and tell the stories of the people who aren’t always on the surface.
