54th Mountain Fair
What: Head to Carbondale for the 54th Mountain Fair. This volunteer-run fair began as a traveling chautauqua, and has evolved into a community celebration of love, humanity and history that draws thousands of visitors each year. The 2025 fair theme is ¡Let’s Dance, Bailemos! and each day also has a theme — Friday is Dancing Queens, Saturday is Ziggy Stardust ‘Lets Dance,’ and Sunday is Shake it! ¡Sacúdelo! This year’s schedule includes the iconic Rhythm of the Heart Community Drum Circle, competitions and contests including the fly-casting competition and singer songwriter contest, and a host of performances by local and visiting talent alike.
When: noon to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25; 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 26; and 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 27. Visit carbondalearts.com/mountain-fair for a full schedule of events.

In the gallery: “The Muses Don’t Tell Me Sh–” and “Oddly Familiar
What: Solo exhibitions “The Muses Don’t Tell Me Sh–” and “Oddly Familiar” are on display at the Carbondale Arts Gallery through Aug. 14. “The Muses Don’t Tell Me Sh–” is an installation of over 800 paint pen drawings by Glenwood Springs artist Vallee Noone, while “Oddly Familiar” by oil painter Chad Knowles explores nature, mystery and the idea that consciousness appears in everything.

Rifle Farmers Market
What: Rifle’s seasonal farmers market features an array of fresh products from artisan food vendors and local farms. Live music, a children’s area, playground equipment and more contribute to a family-fun outing that’s more than just a market.

Movie in the Park
What: Enjoy the outdoors while watching Kung Fu Panda 4 at Veterans Park during Silt’s Movie in the Park series.

BBQ & Beatdowns — Roller Derby Event
What: Join Roaring Fork Roller Derby for an evening of BBQ, roller derby and family fun, including a halftime Toddler Stride race and child’s Scooter Race. There will be a BBQ dinner for sale as well as concessions. Roller derby teams — the Grill Marks and the Napkin Ninjas — include Roaring Fork Roller members and other skaters.

H2O Day!: A Little Rec Summer Event
What: Part of the Little Rec Summer Events series, H2O Day is a fun and engaging way for kids ages one to seven to beat the heat and features bounce houses, water play and other activities.

Music Under the Bridge
What: Kick off your weekend with free family friendly concerts hosted underneath the Grand Avenue Bridge from 4:40-7:30 p.m. Saturday’s free concert will kick off the annual weekly free concert series that highlights local talent. The series will run through Sept.10. The seating at Bethel Plaza is limited and patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Hilltop Concert Series
What: Head to Rifle’s Bookcliffs Arts Center each Sunday for the family-friendly Hilltop Concert Series, featuring some of Western Colorado’s best local musicians.

Market on 7th
What: The farmers market is back in action in 2025 with the Market on 7th. Seventh street from Cooper to Colorado Avenues will be closed every Tuesday through Sept. 2 from 4-8 p.m., as local vendors and artists get a chance to shine. While getting the chance to support local businesses and produce, visitors will be able to enjoy live music, find homemade snacks and treats, and soak up the beautiful downtown Glenwood Springs area.

New Castle Trails’ 2025 Rides and Reggae Festival
What: Celebrate music, mountain biking and trail running with your community at the 2025 Rides and Reggae Festival. This year’s festival schedule includes performances by reggae, bluegrass and funk-inspired bands like The Know Bodies, The Motet and Still House String Band as well as trail running and mountain biking races on the Colorow and Highlands Trail Networks.
When: 6-10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1 and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2
Where: Down Valley Brewing, 589 W. Main St., New Castle, on Friday, Aug. 1 and VIX Ranch Park, 627 N. Wildhorse Drive, New Castle, on Saturday, Aug. 2.
