Senior Stroll

What: Enjoy a walking tour through the exhibitions at the Powers Art Center and create art afterwards. This tour is open to seniors and locals alike.

TRUU Colors Queer Potluck Brunch

What: Head to Carbondale’s Third Street Center for a morning of food and welcoming community. Bring a dish to share and enjoy provided coffee, tea and bread with butter and jam.  Connect with your community by sharing life milestones with the group, adding your favorite song to the event playlist and bringing clothes, books or art to exchange at the Queer Exchange Table.

When: 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27

Kreutzer

What: Carbondale’s Thunder River Theatre Company and BenFeng Music Productions present “Kreutzer.” This genre-blending performance fuses Beethoven’s “Kreutzer Sonata” with Janáček’s “String Quartet No. 1” and Tolstoy’s novella “The Kreutzer Sonata” for an immersive literary and classical-music filled tale of jealousy and redemption. 

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28

Where: Thunder River Theatre Company, 67 Promenade, Carbondale

Family Fly Fishing

What: Head to Spring Creeks Ranch in Carbondale for a family-friendly day of fishing through Fish for Change Colorado. Attendees will learn fly fishing basics like tying knots and casting, then have hands-on time fishing in the water with provided gear. 

When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28

Artful Adventures

What: Bring your child to the Glenwood Springs Community Art Center for creative adventures each early release Wednesday. Children ages 11 to 17 can learn new techniques, build their artistic skills and explore new materials throughout the 11 session program. 

When: 2:30-4:30 p.m. every Wednesday from Oct. 1 to Dec. 17, except for Nov. 26. 

Where: Community Art Center, 601 E. Sixth St., Glenwood Springs

How much: $220 for all 11 classes. 

Wild and Scenic Film Fest 

What: The Wild and Scenic Film Fest returns to Garfield County as the largest annual fundraiser for the Middle Colorado Watershed Council. Enjoy inspiring films, bid in a live auction, enter prize drawings and more, all while raising money that will be used to find solutions to regional water-related issues. This year, the Watershed Council is also offering complimentary admission for teachers and middle and high school students in Districts RE-2 and G-16 with advance reservations. 

When/Where: Dinner and drinks at 6 p.m., program begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue, 915 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs

Doors open at 6 p.m., program begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Ute Theater and Events Center, 132 E. Fourth St., Rifle
