Blades clashed and feet shuffled as the Roaring Fork Fencers Club welcomed the community to its open house Friday at the Glenwood Springs Community Arts Center. With swords in hand and masks on, fencers of all ages showed off their skills, giving spectators a glimpse into the fast-paced, strategic world of the sport.

The club, home to about 18 members, mainly draws students ages 7-18, but its adult roster is growing. Whether beginners looking to learn the ropes or competitors eyeing the podium, members train five days a week. Practices are held in Glenwood Springs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with Aspen hosting sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
