Families gathered at the Orchard in Carbondale on Saturday for English in Action’s Fiesta de Tamales, celebrating culture, community and plenty of homemade flavor. Nearly 400 attendees enjoyed close to 800 tamales, along with kids’ activities, prize giveaways and international food tastings. Live performances from Mezcla Socials Dance and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Folklórico brought the celebration to life, while multigenerational volunteers kept the spirit of family at the heart of the event. The fiesta showed how a shared meal can bring neighbors closer and strengthen community bonds.
