“Visceral Alchemy: Fine Art + Tattoo” at Carbondale Arts
What: A new group invitational exhibition curated by Sarah Overbeck and Matt Hays will be on display at the Carbondale Arts Gallery from May 29 to July 3. Featuring several artists, this exhibition explores the fine art behind tattooing and examines the relationship between personal and professional art forms.
When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through July 3

Fourth Annual Summer Block Party
What: A free community event by the New Castle Chamber of Commerce for local businesses, neighbors and families, with food from the Rolling Fork and Mama’s Pierogi and live music from The Mixx and the Intaglios.
When: 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, June 12

Cornhole and Barbeque Party
What: Bring your A-game for some friendly cornhole competition and enjoy barbecue with friends. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available. Bring a side dish and your own adult beverages. Plates and utensils will be provided.

Rainbow Herd: An Equine Intensive for the LGBTQIA+ community
What: Rainbow Herd is a group workshop for LGBTQIA+ adults using the Eagala Model of equine-assisted therapy. This is not a riding experience, as all work is done on the ground alongside the horses, with a licensed mental health professional and a certified equine specialist present throughout. This workshop is designed to support community building, authentic connection and a sense of belonging. Wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothes and sunscreen, and bring a water bottle.
When: 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 14

Valley View Cancer Survivorship Event
What: In celebration of National Cancer Survivor Month, the community is invited to join Valley View’s Calaway-Young Cancer Center to honor local cancer survivors and their loved ones and remember those who are no longer with us. Activities include live music by Shaefer Welch Music, complimentary snacks provided by Jimmy John’s and Aspen Mini Donuts, and a tribute to honor survivors, past and present.
When: 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 17

Third Thursday on Third
What: Rifle’s newest downtown event will run from June through October, featuring live music, family games, local restaurants, shops and a new theme each month. Attendees are encouraged to dress up and join the fun. The June 18 event will feature a Summer Block Party theme, live music by Zin Zin and food from Hunger Tech.

129th Annual Strawberry Days Festival
