Basalt free residential leaf drop-off returns

The town of Basalt is offering its annual free residential leaf drop-off event over five weekends during October and November.
Residents can bring leaves, trimmings, and small limbs for composting from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 18, and 25, and Nov. 1 and 8. An attendant from EverGreen ZeroWaste will be present each Saturday to provide assistance.
“This free service aligns with Basalt’s strategic environmental goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from organic waste,” a press release reads.
The drop-off is at the corner of East Valley Road and Original Road near Highway 82 and the Midvalley Medical Center, 20526 Highway 82.
This event is intended for residential use only, and commercial operations are not allowed. More information can be found at http://www.basalt.net/greenteam or by emailing sara.nadolny@basalt.net.
