Colorado outdoors groups to host free fishing weekend, nature cleanups for Great Outdoors Month
The U.S. Forest Service will also offer waived fees at most day-use sites on National Get Outdoors Day

June is Great Outdoors Month, and in Colorado people love to get outside. So, that means there will be nature clean-ups, coordinated hikes and free events.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife will offer its free fishing weekend this weekend on June 7 and 8. Residents and visitors are allowed to fish for free, with the fishing license and habitat stamp requirements waived, according to the state parks agency.
June 7 is also the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day. There are trail cleanups and other events planned in Silverthorne, Breckenridge, Alma, Oak Creek and at Rocky Mountain National Park, according to the society’s website. Then, June 14 is National Get Outdoors Day, when the U.S. Forest Service waives fees at most day-use sites managed by the agency.
