Flash flood watch in effect across western Colorado Tuesday

Most of western Colorado will be under a flash flood watch from 6 a.m. Tuesday to midnight due to expected excessive rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.
The area under the watch Portions of Colorado, including the following areas, along the Interstate 70 corridor, Flat Tops, Four Corners, Central Mountain Valleys, Grand Valley, Grand and Battlement Mesas, Western San Juan Mountains, Uncompahgre Plateau and Dallas Divide, Upper Gunnison River Valley and West Elk and Sawatch Mountains, and portions of southeast Utah.
This also includes the Elk/Lee Complex, Turner Gulch, Deer Creek, Stoner Mesa, and South Rim burn scars.
Officials with the Derby Fire in Eagle County also expect flooding and debris flows to be a threat Tuesday.
