The Crosho Fire in South Routt County was 91% contained and remained at 2,073 acres as of Monday morning, according to a news release from the Wyoming Type 3 Incident Management Team.
“Protecting the safety of both firefighters and the public remains the highest priority,” states the release. “Containment continues to increase thanks to the hard work of firefighters. Thunderstorms brought high winds and heavy rain over the fire area yesterday.”
No structures were threatened by the fire as of Monday morning, and no structures have been damaged or destroyed in the blaze, which began Aug. 11 in the vicinity of the Crosho Reservoir in Southeast Rio Blanco County.
Five engines, two water tenders, one dozer and two hand crews were on the scene Monday morning, totaling 139 firefighting personnel.
There were no aircraft on the scene Monday morning due to Sunday weather conditions that prevented aerial support, according to the news release. Aircraft will continue to aid in the effort on Monday if weather conditions allow.
“Remaining hand crews are focusing on backhauling equipment across the fire’s footprint,” continues the news release. “Firefighters on the east side are steadily advancing with suppression repair. Under the guidance of Resource Advisors, a dozer and excavator are repairing larger fire lines as ground crews work focus on repairing handline. During the day, engines continue to patrol and monitor the perimeter.”

All evacuation zones remained under a “Ready” pre-evacuation status as of Monday morning.
