Mountain Fair 4 Mile Run draws 54 racers, Gavrilova takes top spot

On Saturday morning, at the 54th edition of the Carbondale Mountain Fair, 54 runners boarded a school bus at Sopris Park and rode up Prince Creek Road to the start of the annual Mountain Fair 4-mile run. The race was sponsored by Independence Run and Hike in Carbondale. Anna Gavrilova was the overall champion with a time of 23:15.

The top 25 finishers were: Anna Gavrilova, 23:15; Kyle Long, 23:21; Chris Bridges, 24:06; Kristen Amundsen, 24:58; Daniel Rogers, 25:29; Kevin Warner, 25:35; Josh Hejtmanek, 25:56; John Stroud, 26:38; Isabella Moon, 26:56; Christian Bohmfolk, 27:38; Eric Rodriguez, 28:05; Emmaline Warner, 28:53; Amy Mayer, 28:59; Jeff Erickson, 29:52; Brad Palmer, 29:55; Everett Conklin, 30:11; David Conklin, 30:14; Kendall Reiley, 30:23; Dustin Smoot, 31:32; Betsy After, 31:35; Kathryn Meldrum, 31:42; Johnny Utah, 31:49; Mark Millhorne, 31:55; Sophia Warner, 32:02; and Martha Aarons, 32:52.

Next on the local racing calendar are two events on Saturday, Aug. 9. The Pyro’s Trail Run, featuring 2.5-mile, 5-mile and 8-mile options, will take place in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area. The Dog Day 5K, a fundraiser for Colorado Animal Rescue, will be held at Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs.
