New events planned this month at western Garfield County libraries

Western Garfield County libraries are hosting several upcoming events this month for those interested in romance novels, crafts and mental health conversations.
The Silt Branch Library will launch “Happily Ever After Dark”, a new book club for adults focused on “romantasy” — fantasy novels with romantic elements. Meetings will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. every other Tuesday, starting Aug. 12. To receive the book list and full schedule, email sharlan@gcpld.org. For more information, call the Silt Branch Library at 970-876-5500.
Teens are invited to the Parachute Branch Library from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, for a bedazzling event. Participants can bring their favorite book and decorate it with rhinestones and other craft materials provided by the library. Snacks will also be available. The event is free. For details, call 970-285-9870.
The Rifle Branch Library will host a new mental health discussion series in partnership with the Garfield County Public Health Department. The series, “Let’s Chat Mental Health”, begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, with an open conversation about finding happiness. The event will also be streamed on Zoom and is free to the public. For more information, call Public Health at 970-665-6370.
