Obituary: C. Arthur (Buster) Smith

Art died peacefully at home with his wife at his side. He was born in Alamosa, Colorado to Clarence and Florence Smith. He married his wife, Donna Craig, August 6, 1961. They raised two daughters in Glenwood Springs where he owned Art’s Plumbing and Heating for ten years. He spent the remainder of his career at Dodson’s and Grand Junction Pipe.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Rosalie Smith of Hawthorne, Nevada and Phyllis Mead of Denver. He is survived by his wife, Donna, his daughters Penney Steele of Alabama and Sheila Smith of New Castle, grandchildren Camie Walker of New Castle, Jeremiah Steele of Denver and Poonam Steele of Glenwood Springs, as well as six great-grandchildren.
An open house/ potluck celebrating his life will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 at 2818 1/2 Columbine Park Court, Grand Junction, Colorado 11am-2pm. Bring your stories!
