Joshua Nickless Shroyer was born June 24, 1981, to Robert (jr) and Debra Shroyer, and passed on August 6, 2025. He and his elder sister, Jessica, came to know a number of households, with the majority of their upbringing lovingly tended to in Rifle, Colorado, by Lorrie (Shroyer) Raffensperger. They gained additional siblings in Nickless, Mollie, and Jacob. Josh was a cowboy – an excellent horse-rider; a farmer, artist, writer, chef, magician, musician, ninja, inventor, mountain man, and prophet.
Josh loved the Lord, his family and friends, people, nature, animals, music, food, inventing, swimming, magic tricks, fishing, camping, treasure hunting, scavenging, making things, farming, cooking, learning, adventure, mysteries, tinkering, whittling, knives, fire, drawing, writing, nunchucks, throwing stars, and much more than can be listed…
He dreamed bigger than most dare to, and laughed bigger, too! He was a family member, friend, and lover, with the most generous heart. Josh will live on in the memories of the many who love him.
Josh is survived by his father; aunts Lorrie, Carnell, and Nini; siblings Jess (John) Spinelli, Darin Matrazzo, Jacob Shroyer, Nickless (Katy) Raffensperger, and Mollie (Austin) Flores; cousins Destrie Jr., Wyatt, and Nini Shroyer; niece Mia Matrazzo; nephews Dominick Munoz, Abram Flores, and Armie Flores; and countless friends.
