Robert passed away at home April 11, 2025, just 4 days after his 55th birthday in Grand Junction, CO. Robert was born to William and Dena Payne in Richmond, MO. He grew up in Missouri and the Western Slope of Colorado. He married Melinda (Mel) in August 1995 and they welcomed son Harley in December 1996.
He enjoyed fishing, wildlife, wolves, hunting, motorcycles, and joking around with his sassy personality. His passion was selling firearms at Sports Authority in GWS. He was a wonderful caretaker to his father-in-law Jim that had dementia. He was preceded in death by his mom, dad, brother Wm Allen and sister Janet. Survived to remember him by brothers Brad & Dale, and sisters Debbie, Ronda, Valerie, Lisa, Josephine, Kim and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Glenwood
Springs, CO, Saturday October 4, 2025 @ 11:00 am.
