Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) announced a temporary closure of its Glenwood Springs Health Center following the departure of its local healthcare provider, PPRM announced in a news release on Friday. 

The last day for in-person patient care was Friday. 

The organization announced in the release that it has already hired a replacement from Colorado’s Western Slope, and expects to resume in-person services later this year once the provider has completed training and onboarding.

“Reopening this health center is a top priority,” PPRM President and CEO Adrienne Mansanares said in the release. “As we work toward that goal, our focus remains on supporting our local staff during this temporary pause in in-person services and ensuring our patients continue to have access to the trusted, high-quality care they need.”

Local patients will continue to have access to most essential services through Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains’ Virtual Care Center, according to the release. 

“Through telehealth appointments, patients can obtain a range of reproductive and sexual healthcare services, including birth control, medication abortion care, treatment for sexually transmitted infections, gender-affirming hormone therapy, and other healthcare services,” the release reads.
