The Jacob Jolliff Band
What: Jacob Jolliff is one of the world’s premier contemporary mandolinists. The Jacob Jolliff Band is one of the most cutting-edge progressive bluegrass groups on the scene today. They’ve released three albums, the most recent of which, “Instrumentals, Vol. 2: Mandolin Mysteries,” dropped in May 2024. The band plays a combination of complex original instrumental music and vocal repertoire that spans from trad bluegrass to unlikely pop covers.

Kiwanis 71st Annual Pancake Breakfast
What: Join the Kiwanis Club for its 71st Annual Pancake Breakfast. Bring the whole family and enjoy a delicious breakfast featuring pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee and juice along with live local music, free children’s books and family games.
When: 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12
Where: Seventh Street under the Grand Ave. Bridge, Glenwood Springs
Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for children, pay at the door.
Third Thursday on Third
What: September’s Third Thursday on Third is Oktoberfest in downtown Rifle, featuring The Alpine Echo on the stage and the Smokey Bones foodtruck.

Aspen Writer’s Network Third Thursday Meeting
What: Flex your creativity, explore new genres, find your unique voice, and expand your skill with writing prompts at this meeting. Whether you’re a seasoned wordsmith or just dipping your toes into the world of writing, come expand your artistic chops. Sharing is optional.
When: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17

Typical Ghost at KDNK Block Party
What: KDNK is kicking off the Fall Fund Drive with a block party at Second and Main Street in downtown Carbondale. Typical Ghost will be playing a live show with libations provided by Mountain Heart Brewing, RKY MTN Adult Drinks, and Bom Dia Bubbles. Mama’s Pierogi food truck will also be on site. Celebrate community radio and dance the night away.

Octoberfest at Glenwood Adventure Park
What: Celebrate Oktoberfest — branded as “Octoberfest” by Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park — on the mountain with live music by The Alpine Echo Band, German-inspired food and seasonal craft beers. A pumpkin patch will also be available, along with beer puppeteering and hammerschlagen.
When: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, and Saturdays, Sept. 26, Oct. 3, and Oct. 10
