The 11th annual Pyro’s Push It Up Trail Run was held Saturday morning at 9,100 feet in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area in New Castle.

Each year, the 2-, 5- and 8-mile races pay tribute to U.S. Air Force Capt. William “Pyro” DuBois of New Castle, who died in December 2014 while flying a mission over Jordan. Proceeds from the event help fund scholarships for future American fighter pilots.

Jereme Leaf of Manchester, New Hampshire, was the overall winner in the 8-mile race, and Kelsea Hauquitz of Rifle outdueled New Castle’s Tara DeWitte in the 5-miler, with women taking the top two spots overall.
