Valley View Hospital has again earned a five-star rating for overall hospital quality from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the highest rating possible, marking the second consecutive year the hospital has received the designation, a VVH news release states.

The Glenwood Springs-based, independent, not-for-profit health system is one of only 12 hospitals in Colorado and 290 nationwide to receive the top rating for 2025. CMS evaluated nearly 3,000 hospitals nationwide based on 45 quality measures in five categories: safety of care, mortality, patient experience, readmission rates, and timely and effective care.

“This continued recognition affirms the exceptional care we deliver to our patients every day,” Valley View CEO Brian Murphy said in the release. “Achieving this distinction once is an honor, but earning it again is a true testament to the consistent dedication and excellence of our physicians, nurses, administrators and support staff.”

Star ratings for acute care hospitals are available on the federal Care Compare website.
