Music Under the Bridge

What: Kick off your weekend with free, family-friendly concerts held underneath the Grand Avenue Bridge from 4:30-7:30 p.m. each week until late September. Queen Bees will be featured on Sept. 19 followed by Wild Flight on Sept. 26. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Stepping Up for Youth

What: Support the local youth programming put on by Stepping Stones of the Roaring Fork Valley at the third annual Stepping Up for Youth fundraiser. Featuring youth performances, games and a silent auction, as well as tasty bites from Taqueria El Yaqui, the fundraiser is a fun-filled celebration of the past year’s successes. Tickets include all food, a reusable cup and non-alcoholic beverages. 

When: 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19

Where: Stepping Stones, 1010 Garfield Ave., Carbondale

CCC Student Artist Sale In:Progress

What: Explore ceramic works made by student artists and find unique pieces for gifts or your home at this student-led exhibition and sale. 

When: Noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 

Where: Under the CCC tent at the Carbondale Clay Center, 135 Main St., Carbondale

‘Storical Steampunk Shindig

What: Step into the frivolity of a Victorian steampunk era at the ‘Storical Steampunk Shindig, sponsored by the Garfield County Libraries and Silt Historical Park. Enjoy music by Oran Mor, an absinthe demo, teapot racing, a fire spinner, costume contest and trunk show and tea dueling. 

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 

Where: Silt Historical Park, 707 Orchard Ave., Silt

Live Roller Derby

What: Head to the Glenwood Springs Recreational Hockey Rink for the Roaring Fork Roller Derby team’s final showdown of the season. This action-packed, family-friendly game features the Roaring Fork Roller Derby team versus Utah’s Beehive Skate Revolution. Food and concessions will be available for purchase.

When: 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20

Where: Glenwood Springs Recreational Hockey RInk, 100 Wulfsohn Road, Glenwood Springs 

How much: Free. Donation of $5 is suggested.

Oktoberfest

What: Head to Glenwood Canyon Brewpub for an Oktoberfest celebration filled with food, brews, lederhosen and Dirndl. 

When: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 

Where: Glenwood Canyon Brewpub, 402 Seventh St., Glenwood Springs

Senior Stroll

What: Enjoy a walking tour through the exhibitions at the Powers Art Center and create art afterwards. This tour is open to seniors and locals alike. 

When: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26

TRUU Colors Queer Potluck Brunch

What: Head to Carbondale’s Third Street Center for a morning of food and welcoming community. Bring a dish to share and enjoy provided coffee, tea and bread with butter and jam.  Connect with your community by sharing life milestones with the group, adding your favorite song to the event playlist and bringing clothes, books or art to exchange at the Queer Exchange Table.

When: 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27

Kreutzer

What: Carbondale’s Thunder River Theatre Company and BenFeng Music Productions present “Kreutzer.” This genre-blending performance fuses Beethoven’s “Kreutzer Sonata” with Janáček’s “String Quartet No. 1” and Tolstoy’s novella “The Kreutzer Sonata” for an immersive literary and classical-music filled tale of jealousy and redemption. 

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28
