Garfield County Libraries schedule for June 16-22

Garfield County Libraries has a busy week ahead, with events ranging from a new recovery support series to a grand reopening celebration.

Beginning Thursday, June 19, the Glenwood Springs branch library will host a new weekly event series for members of 12-step recovery programs. Those looking to deepen their 11th-step practice of prayer and meditation are invited to explore centering prayer with others on a similar journey. Meetings will be at 9 a.m. starting this Thursday, June 19 at the Glenwood Springs branch library. For more information, call the library at 970-945-5958. 

The Parachute branch library will be having a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21. Stay for music by Oran Mor, grab snacks and refreshments and get involved in the crafts, games and more throughout the day. For more information, call the Parachute library at 970-285-9870.



The Rifle branch library is holding a Homebuyer Workshop at 9 a.m. on Saturday as well by NEWSED. This workshop will help patrons navigate the path to homeownership and earn a CHFA certification that will be valid for a year. This course will be offered in both English and Spanish. Adults are invited to make tie-dye shirts at the Silt branch library at noon on Saturday, June 21. Dye, gloves and supplies will be provided to create a vibrant, one-of-a-kind masterpiece. No experience is needed and this is a bilingual event. For more information, call the Silt branch library at 970-876-5500.
