Iron Mountain implementing long-asked for private pools

Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs is looking to build an expansion of additional pools to their property in the next year or so.
“We’re looking to build private pools with cabanas and we wanted to see if there was a demand for it,” said Aaron McCallister, general manager of Iron Mountain Hot Springs.
The WorldSprings reserved VIP pool option at Iron Mountain Hot Springs is a new addition. McCallister said they started it during the holiday over Christmas.
“It was fairly successful and we wanted to try it again during Spring Break, since it’s a busy time,” he said.
The reserved VIP pool option, part of WorldSprings, is good for large groups that are able to split the bill between them, since the admissions for different time slots range from $300 to $800.
“This is a trial run so we can build more of these out for next summer and make it more permanent,” McCallister said.
The pools are based on various hot springs from around the world, like the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, Hokkaido in Japan and the Dead Sea on the border of Jordan and Israel.
“You can have up to 10 people and have access to the whole property,” McCallister said.
If this trial run goes well, then more private pools can be built alongside the rest of the expansion.
“We’re unsure about the entire cost, but we’re building a new locker room, six cabanas, a cold plunge and we can add three to four more private pools on the river side,” McCallister said.
They’re hoping to have it finished by summer of 2025.
“We’re a tourist town, so it’s another offering to the guest, and we’ve gotten the question ‘can I reserve a pool’ often,” McCallister said. “This is something for locals as well, who want to come and be social with family and friends in their own space.”
