Charleen Louise Bagley, born November 26, 1938, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Ted and Ida Osborn, passed away surrounded by loved ones. She was raised in Molina alongside her brother Charles before the family moved to Rifle, where she graduated from Rifle High School.
At 16, Charleen met Paul Bagley, the love of her life. They married a year later on July 2, 1955, and shared nearly 70 years together, raising five children: Paula, Peggy, Robin, Barbara, and Tim. They built a life on Silt Mesa—first raising sheep, then running a custom wheat harvesting business for 13 years before retiring in 1996. They spent ten cherished winters in Rockport, Texas, before returning home to Colorado.
Charleen was known for her humor, grit, and generous spirit. She could sense hunger before anyone admitted it, and if you came through her door, you got fed—like it or not. She lit up every room, loved deeply, and kept Paul smiling with her sass and sweetness. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was preceded in death by her daughters Barbara and Peggy; her parents, Ted and Ida; and her in-laws, Luke and Fern Bagley. She is survived by her husband Paul; brother Charles (Judy); children Paula (Doug), Robin (John), and Tim (Yan); 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a legacy of strength and love. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at New Castle First Baptist Church, 172 N Seventh Street, New Castle, Colorado.
