The Rifle Rendezvous Festival comes back this Thursday to Sunday at the Garfield County Fairgrounds, featuring the carnival, lots of vendors and multiple events.

The Rifle Rendezvous has been coming in May to Rifle for a long time, originally starting as the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous in the mid 1800s.

No two rendezvouses are the same, and this year is no different, featuring the Bathtub Rodeo, an Outdoor 3-D Archery Shoot, C Squires Memorial Car Show, and a Jaripeo Ranchero. The band, Whiskey Stomp, will be playing on Saturday as well.

Rifle Rendezvous Festival is also partnered with the Colorado Mountain College auto program and has applications for the C Squires Memorial Scholarship fund on their website at riflerendezvous.wordpress.com/1387-2/

The Shamrock Shindig includes a silent auction and a raffle with prizes for 1st through 7th, ranging from a fire pit to quilts to shooting lessons. All proceeds will go to the Garfield County 4-H Council, who partnered with Rifle Rendezvous Festival to put on the Shamrock Shindig, and will fund scholarships for graduating seniors in high school.

The Agriculture Expo, taking place at the same time as the Master Gardeners’ Plant Sale, starting at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, features topics on land leasing, beef production and rangeland health. There will also be cowboy poetry.

The Dyno Daze and Corn Hole Tournament on the Track have unfortunately been canceled. The ongoing scheduled events stop at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The vendors will be in the indoor arena and in the south hall on Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The carnival will be open every day as well, from 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
