March 18, 1955 – April 30, 2026

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Davis Murphy, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully on April 30, 2026, at the age of 71.

Born on March 18, 1955, in Rifle, Colorado, Michael lived a life defined by dedication, resilience, and quiet strength. He spent many years working in the oil field and construction industries, where he was known for his strong work ethic and pride in a job well done. His hard work helped provide for his family and shaped the life he built.

He is survived by his children, Sarah Hensley, Shawn Murphy, Michael Hensley, Kelly Murphy, and Darla Murphy, as well as his grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his separated spouse, Vicki S. Murphy. He will be remembered fondly by extended family members and many dear friends whose lives he touched along the way.

Michael had a deep love for horses and a passion for snowmobile racing, hobbies that brought him excitement, freedom, and lasting memories. He found happiness in these pursuits and in the simple moments spent doing what he loved.

His warmth, humor, and steady presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to American Kidney Fund https://www.kidneyfund.org/

He will be forever loved and never forgotten.
